Nigerian forward, Kayode Olanrewaju, is still battling to be fit to feature for his Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk in the new season, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.
Kayode, 25, missed Shakhtar Donetsk’s Ukrainian Super Cup 1-0 defeat to Dynamo Kiev and the club’s opening two games of the new season due to injury.
He also missed all Shakhtar Donetsk’s pre-season friendlies as a result of the injury.
“Yaroslav Rakits’kyy is back to training with the team.
Meanwhile, Sergii Kryvtsov, Ivan Ordets and Olarenwaju Kayode still train individually,” reads a tweet on Shakhtar Donetsk’s official Twitter handle on Tuesday.
Kayode penned a five-year contract with Shakhtar Donetsk in May following a successful loan spell with the club.
The former Austria Wien striker scored two goals in six league appearances for the Miners last season.
He won the Ukrainian league and Cup titles with the club .
Paulo Fonseca’s men who sit at the top of the table will face title rivals Dynamo Kiev in their next league game on Friday.
