Austria Wien Nigerian forward, Kayode Olanrewaju, wants an improved deal to stay at the club ahead of next season, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Kayode who regarded the past season in the Austrian Bundesliga as the finest of his career is also looking forward to featuring in the UEFA Europa League competition after his side finished third behind league winners Salzburg and runner-up Rapid Wien.
The former Flying Eagles star says an improved contract at the club will urge him to stay on at the Generali Arena despite mouthwatering offers pouring in from other leagues.
Kayode, who scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in his debut season to emerge one of best forwards in the league, told Completesportsnigeria.com in a chat that he will be building on his goal-scoring feat in the coming season.
“Last season was my best performance in Europe. If you will recall I started my career with a second division team in Israel with Maccabi Netanya where I scored 10 league goals and surpassed that feat when we got promoted to the first division scoring 13 goals,” Kayode told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“It’s rather the best that I stay because we qualified for the Europa League and that’s one competition that will help boost my profile and an improved deal will aid that as well.”
The former U-17 and U-20 star also expressed his unhappiness over the continued exclusion from the Super Eagles despite his performances over the years.
“It’s quite difficult getting in but I know I will get my chance someday,” he added.
