  • Olanrewaju Kayode is pushing hard for a place in the Super Eagles squad for the world cup and his recent performances would have done his chances no harm .

That said, if recent squad selections for Super Eagles are anything to go by, Kayode is firmly behind Ighalo, Iheanacho, Musa and even Iwobi in pecking order of striker and support striker positions .

In a world cup year, it stills baffles me why he would have left Austria where he was banging goals for fun; a move that almost jeopardized his (already fragile) position in the Super Eagles squad.

Now that he is back in a decent club doing what he does best (goals scoring) it remains to be seen whether he would do enough to warm his way to the heart of coach Rohr.

Either way, well done Kayode and more greese to you elbows.

Deo,  Bro uthink those  players u mentioned are better than Kayode, I think u are wrong with exceptional of Ighalo, those players u mentioned lacks Kayodes work ethics on the field. Iwobi and Iheanacho looses possession easily precise they are not strikers.

  • @SunnyB, sorry if i wasn’t clear – I am actually a fan of Kayode and rate him very highly.

However, in recent Super Eagles matches, coach Rohr has preferred Ighalo, Iheanacho, Iwobi and Musa ahead of Kayode.

I would have bet my car that Kayode would have started in the friendly against Argentina but to my surprise, Iwobi and Iheanacho were selected (and going by the 4:2 result, you have to conclude that the coach got his team selection 100% right!)

I share your observations about Iwobi and Iheanacho but my brother, me I no be coach o! I go leave coach make him do him job; I just be observer and fan!

Regardless of who Rohr picks, I will back the team all the way…

  • @Jones
Iheanacho is not a striker and have never been one.

Iheanacho is not a striker nor a complete footballer to me going by what he displayed during the world cup .
