Nigerian striker, Olanrewaju Kehinde is confident that the Super Eagles will qualify for the next round of the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia despite facing a desperate Argentina reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Nigeria must avoid defeat in their last game against Argentina and hope Croatia extend their winning run to three games by defeating Iceland.
Kehinde who scored seven goals and provided six assists in 23 games for Ankaragucu who gained promotion to the Turkish Super Lig top-flight division told CSN in Lagos that the team is gradually getting into their rhythm with key players taking responsibilities playing in their roles.
“We have top quality players in the team that can get us a win against Argentina,” he said in a chat with CSN.
“But we must play to our strength. They need to do more this time to get a win because Argentina will throw everything at us and we must be ready to curtail them but our forwards need more supports.
“They were brilliant against Iceland and I am confident we will beat Argentina to qualify,” the 24 year old added.
Kehinde is also confident that he will get his chances to represent Nigeria in the coming years.
“Now I’d be playing in the top division with several Super Eagles players so I could be monitored well and, who knows, I could get my chance like others.
“I believe in my qualities any day but I will bid my time.”
Nigeria are second in group D with three points from two games while Argentina are rock bottom in the table with just one point.
