Nigerian striker, Olanrewaju Kehinde, is eager stay at Ankaragucu after helping the club to gain promotion to the top-flight division, Turkish Super Lig , reports Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) .
Ankaragucu finished second in the Turkish second division table despite having played a game less.
Ankaragucu who face Dermispor in their final league game on Monday currently have 62 points from 33 games, seven points behind Rizespor who regained promotion back to the top flight winning the division.
Kehinde, 24, scored seven goals and provided six assists in 23 games this season. He hopes to consolidate on his impressive showing in the Turkish second division next next season in the top league.
“It’s going to be my first season in the Turkish Super League, and I think it’s the place that Ankaragucu deserve, that the fans deserve as well,” Kehinde told CSN in an interview.
“I am looking forward to the next season in the Super League with great expectations and I believe we will do well there.
“But you never can tell what can happen if a big offer is made.”
Kehinde who has one year left on his current deal with Ankaragucu is also confident his club’s new status could boost his chances of representing Nigeria in the coming years.
“Now I will be playing in the top division with several Super Eagles players. so I could be monitored well and who knows?, I could get my chance like others.”
“I believe in my qualities any day, but I will bid my time.”
