Kenyan runners dominated the 2018 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, claiming the first three positions in the men’s event in Saturday’s 42km road race.
Kenyan-born Frenchman Abraham Kiprotich won the men’s race with a time of 2:13:04, claiming the $50,000 top prize, while Kenya’s Kiboss Ronny came second with the time of 2:13:26.
Victor Benjamin, another Kenyan, came third with the time of 2:13:29.
Ayelu Hordofa of Ethiopia won the women’s race with a time of 2:35:17, while Herma Guta came second with 2:38:25 and Girma Getachew also of Ethiopia came third with 2:38:36.
In the Nigerian category, Ilya Pam won for the second straight time running while Sharabutu Philibus came second.
Williams Kefas came in as the third best Nigerian finisher.
