Keshi: Expect Better Eagles Against Sudan

–Big Boss in the dark over contract renewal

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has told Complete Sports that Nigerians will see a better team when the senior national team takes on Sudan in the home and away clashes of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled for next month, saying the African champions were just not lucky to beat the Bafana Bafana of South Africa last week in Cape Town.

The former national team captain who led the Eagles to win the African showpiece last year in South Africa believes that the players gave their best in the encounter despite the goalless draw.

“That is the game of football, we went there with the hope of winning but we could only return with a point, we have learned a lot of lessons from the game and we hope to get better in our next game,” says the Big Boss.

“The games against Sudan will come up next month and I can only tell Nigerians to expect something better than what they have seen now, the team will be better because we are going to work on some areas in the team. We are still very committed to qualifying for the Nations Cup.

Speaking on his proposed contract, Keshi who has been criticized by some Nigerians for not able to beat Congo and South Africa in the two African Cup of Nations qualifiers played so far said he was still expecting the NFF to come up with the contract papers.

“There is nothing I can say about that, you are close to the FA and you can ask but the truth is that I am yet to see the papers.”

Meanwhile, Keshi has informed that names of the players that will be used to prosecute next month’s games will be released before the end of the month.
