Keshi To Fans: Come And Cheer Eagles Or Keep Shut!

Keshi To Fans: Come And Cheer Eagles Or Keep Shut!

Super Eagles caretaker manager Stephen Keshi has warned those who plan to protest or boo the team when they take on Sudan this evening at the Abuja National stadium in the reverse fixture of the 2015 AFCON qualfying game not to come near the arena.

The Eagles lost 1-0 in Khartoum last Saturday and Keshi admitted the result wasn’t what he expected but said the criticism he and his team have come under since the unfortunate result in Khartoum has been pure propaganda to kill the team, and not just about the loss to Sudan.

“I was disappointed that we didn’t play well and we didn’t win our game,”Keshi told football website,sl10ng.

“The criticism is not about the game, it’s just propaganda.

“It’s something that people just want to do to kill this team that we’re trying to put together because of one thing or the other or self-interest.”

The under-fire 52-year-old former Super Eagles captain also warned that whoever doesn’t want to support his team should just ‘keep quiet’ and ‘stay home’.

“This is your nation, it’s our nation. You don’t have to sell it, it’s not for sale. Support it, if you don’t want to support it, just keep quiet, keep your mouth shut and stay home,” added Keshi.

“But if you know you want to contribute to your country’s success, come and be with these guys, give them support and cheer them up, it’s not easy to be out there.”

The former Mali coach also reiterated his claim of sabotage, insisting that some persons are just out to sabotage his team.

“It’s a shame that I’ll be saying this, but I’ll say it because it’s my country. If we’re going around to sabotage the team not to succeed, then we’re killing ourselves because if we don’t go to Morocco, you won’t be there, Nigerians are only going to watch on TV that’s all. Our flag won’t be there,” he posited.

After claiming and alleging sabotage against him after Nigeria lost 1-0 to Sudan in yet another limp and lethargic display in a CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifier last Saturday, Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has told sl10.ng that the criticisms he has come under aren’t genuine, but mere propaganda.

Keshi admitted to being disappointed in not beating the Sudanese Falcons.

  • Mr Keshi, just shut up your mouth and step aside for the interest of the super eagles of Nigeria. You are clueless about modern football tatics.

Nigerians are not happy with Eagles result so far. Keshi should stop claiming sabotage because no one is happy about their performance and he, Keshi can not stop people from airing their views. After all, Keshi was the man that selected his players who played for him. He was also given free hand in his selection then how come he start claiming sabotage. Those that he claimed sabotaged him and his team, were they amongst the players that played those games? I believe, Keshi should blame his segregation style of life that brought him this mess. He was over proud and there is this saying that “whenever pride comes first, failure follows” He has succeeded in making more enemies due to his pride than friends. He should better bow out if he wants to reserve some respect.

in trying to justify his poor showing keshi will not stop to exhibit his stupidity by saying all sorts of trash..what manner of a man is this?did i hear the team he is trying to put together…when he singlehandedly dismantled the team he put together a year ago

Keshi has lost it. He knows he will not be given a new contract, so he tried to profit as much as possible from his mediocre players like Agbim and the new players he invited recently.

There is no problem though. Today Wednesday October 15th is his last game coaching the Super Eagles.

Keshi is a smart guy though (this cry of sabotage is part of his way of trying to remove himself of responsibility for the team’s failure, so he can market himself for another job).

Nigeria is a democracy and free country. We are not North Korea. All fans are free to protest and boo the team if that is what they chose to do, an there is nothing Keshi can do about that. Also the fans who want to support the team are also free to do so. If that is what they chose to do.

The team we are trying to build? With the ocean of players scattered all over the globe and for how long are we going to continue building? Indeed, the cock eats, scatters the ground, and eats again. That has been Keshi’s philosophy. After getting good players, he leaves them out and start looking for other players. That’s the only way his bank account remains green. Enough is enough!
