–Big Boss assures ahead Sudan clash
By Bamidele Boluwaji:
Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has told Complete Sports that Bastia FC of France forward, Sunday Mba is still a strong member of the senior national team despite not inviting him for the last two 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo and South Africa.
The Big Boss who was speaking ahead of next month’s qualifying games against Sudan, said the very best will be invited for the encounters saying every player who has played under him or doing well in his club is as good as playing for Nigeria but insisted that not all Nigerian players can be invited at the same time.
Keshi who has assured repeatedly that Nigeria will be at the African Cup of Nations in Morocco despite the poor start of the Super Eagles to the qualifiers however promised that the best will be called for the matches.
“We know the task ahead of us and I can tell you as well that the players know what Nigerians expect from them in terms of result. I want to also assure you that every player is important to the team and if a particular player has not been invited now, that does not mean he is not a member of the team”, begins the former Super Eagles captain.
“We are planning and I can tell you that Sunday Mba is still part of the team, he can be called any time but you must understand that we cannot call all the players we have at the same time.
Meanwhile, Nigeria will be hoping to beat Sudan home and away to brighten her chances of featuring at the 2015 African Cup of Nations in Morocco after losing 2-3 to Congo Brazzaville and playing a goalless draw with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Cape Town.
