Ex-Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi and his assistant Hounadinou Valere have both been invited to Abuja by the French Embassy to celebrate the French National Day — called La Fête Nationale (Bastille Day), completesportsnigeria.com has exclusively gathered.
But while the former Eagles boss Keshi will not be in attendance as he is currently in the USA with his family, Valere will grace the event which could see him meet with some members of the Nigerian Football Federation officials who sacked his boss last week.
Valere told Completesportsnigeria.com shortly before his departure to Abuja that he is back in Nigeria to honour the French Government.
“I came back to Nigerian to attend the French Independence Day in Abuja,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com in a brief chat.
The Bastille Day commemorates the beginning of the French Revolution with the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790.
