Kitesurf Flying High After Easy Group Two Win

Kitesurf Flying High After Easy Group Two Win

Kitesurf will step up in class after her easy victory in the Group Two Darley Prix de Pomone at Deauville. The Andre Fabre-trained filly was left with plenty to do by jockey Mickael Barzalona as she turned into the straight, but hosed up with three and a half lengths in hand over Palombe in second place.
The four-year old will next be aimed at a Group One contest, according to Lisa-Jane Graffard of owners Godolphin.
“That was great – a perfect victory,” she told www.godolphin.com.
“There are no specific plans at the moment – we will see how she comes out of this race.
“The aim will be a Group One, in which she will have step up her form again. On the evidence of this race, she is still improving.
“She is versatile as far as distance and ground are concerned, with a mile and a half on a right-handed track probably being best.
“Mr Fabre thinks going right-handed is important for Kitesurf, who is a big, long-striding filly and therefore suited by a galloping track.”
Kitesurf holds two upcoming Group One entries – the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on October 7 and the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot later in the month.
