Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed in Monday’s press conference that both Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho should be ready for the visit of Arsenal in Wednesday’s Premier League clash.
The Reds have been hit with injuries to key players, most notably Philippe Coutinho and defender Dejan Lovren.
Klopp also revealed that the duo of Jordan Ibe and skipper Jordan Henderson are also set to return to the squad after injury set-backs, admitting he now has more options for the clash with the league leaders.
“Do we have a senior centre back ready? 40 year old or something like this?! We’ll see. I think Kolo will be available, so we will have a senior centre back,” he said.
“Mama (Sakho) wants to be available so we will see if we can use him. Martin (Skrtel) is still a few weeks, Dejan the time of injury is only six days, something like eight or 12 maybe (before he can return), so it’s close.
“There will be a moment where we can risk if we try, but it’s not a moment for this yet. We have to look at Kolo and Mama and the next one is Lucas, so three senior.”
“Jordon Ibe, Jordan Henderson and Mama in the squad; all three and that’s good, Milner is still in training, so we have some options,” he said.
He played down speculations linking Alexander Pato to Liverpool.
“I could say the truth and it’s no, but because I don’t want to talk about all of these rumours then I will say we won’t say anything until a contract is signed. But you don’t have to follow Pato – that’s private advice!”
