Kolo Toure: Liverpool Can Outfight Arsenal

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure is confident the Reds can overcome his former club Arsenal on Sunday.

The former Gunner, who played over 300 games for the north London club, is set to start for the Reds as both Glen Johnson and Dejan Lovren could miss out.

Toure has been a rare good performer for Liverpool in recent months and the Ivorian wants to outfight his former club on Sunday to put his current team back in the hunt for a top four spot.
“We will work hard, we will fight and we hope we can get the results – but we only think about the next game, which is Arsenal,” Toure told the club’s official site.

“It’ll be a really tough game [against Arsenal] because at the moment, I think after the loss we had against United, we need the three points. We’ll play at home and will take advantage of that.
“We will try to play our game, passing the ball well and fighting for every ball, and try to get the three points.”

Arsenal are in fine form after thumping Galatasaray and Newcastle over the past ten days or so and are closing the gap on the top four.

Three wins before the new year should see Arsene Wenger’s side sit in the Champions League spots going into January.

Wenger is still under pressure at the Emirates but wins will offer some breathing space and the transfer window is a chance to make a real statement.
