There will be no shortage of takers if Manchester City fail to offer Vincent Kompany a new deal with Barcelona said to be keen.
Kompany has been granted a testimonial year after a decade of service at City but is out of contract next summer, with no talks yet over a renewal. The City talisman is free to talk to clubs on the continent in the next few weeks but will wait until the end of the campaign before deciding on his next move, sources close to the 32-year-old stating it would be a waste of time for Barcelona to make their move in January.
There is talk the Belgium international could take up an executive role within the City Football Group, although the player has no intention of hanging up his boots anytime soon. Kompany is eyeing lifting a fourth Premier League title this season and his ultimate dream is to captain the Citizens to a first-ever Champions League success.
Barcelona have always rated Kompany and believe he could be tempted by a lucrative free transfer switch to Camp Nou, should he and City decide to go their separate ways next year.
