Paris Saint-Germain’s Layvin Kurzawa has been forced to go under the knife to resolve a back injury which will stall his PSG exit.
The 26-year-old left-back has dropped down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes and was strongly linked with a move away form the Ligue 1 title holders over the summer window.
Kurzawa was believed to be looking for a move in January but his stay with PSG could be extended until the end of this season, after the club confirmed the Frenchman has been forced to have surgery on a back injury.
“Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa underwent surgery on a lumbar herniated disc on Wednesday 12 September,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“The surgery was successfully conducted by Professor Pascal-Mousselard from the orthopaedic department of the Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital.”
