Kwara United Defeat Delights Adama

Kwara UnitedChairman of Nigeria National League, NNL side Kogi United, Abdul Adama has expressed satisfaction over his side’s 2-1 victory over Kwara United believing that the victory would boost the moral of the club.

Adama who was happy about his continuous victory over Kwara United since his days as chairman of ABS FC noted that the victory has further shown his worth as an experienced football administrator.

“I’m really excited with this victory, its a special one for me, kwara United has always been a difficult team to play for me, since my days with ABS FC, but I’ve always had the edge”, begins Adama.

“I didn’t expect anything less than this, we were aware of how the match would be, tough, and that’s why we prepared for it, and we thank God we got the victory, even though we could have won with more goal margin, but what is important is the three points, and we are happy to get the maximum today,” Adama said.

Ismaila Gata scorer of the two goals for Kogi United also echoed his boss’ position on the match adding that it was an emotional match for him, expressing joy that he scored the vital goals which gave Kogi United victory over his former club.

“I give God the glory for the game today, I’m really happy to have fulfilled the promise I made to my team mates and coaches, Kwara United is a team I know too well, its a good feeling to achieve that,” said Gata.

Ismaila Gata converted two first half penalties both in 27th and 35th minute rendering Peter Gabriel’s 73rd minute free kick goal as a consolation for Kwara United.

Kogi United have however garnered 28 points and will make a trip to far away Sokoto for their next match against Sokoto United.
