The Royal Spanish Football Federation on Tuesday confirmed that its General Assembly and the draw for the 2017/18 LaLiga season fixtures have been put off after its president Chief Angel Maria Collar was arrested earlier in the day.
Collar, his son Gorka, and three other federation executives, we're detained on Tuesday as part of an investigation into alleged corruption.
The La Liga schedule was billed to be unveiled during the RFEF's General Assembly on Thursday 20 July, but a statement by the body on Tuesday said the decision had been taken to postpone "all meetings set for 19, 20 and 21 July until a later date".
The fixture list for Spain's second and third tiers – LaLiga 1,2,3 and Segunda División B – were also to be confirmed, in addition to the dates for the 2018 Copa del Rey final and the 2017/18 Spanish Super Cup (expected to be 13 and 16 August).
