–Nigeria supporters’ club boss advises on how to build a new team
President of Nigeria football supporters club, Dr Rafiu Ladipo has stated that the Super Eagles elimination from next year’s Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea is a sad moment for football in the country.
Reacting after the match, Ladipo blamed the players for the ouster.
“Sad moment for Nigeria, we had the opportunity in the first half. Defence messed up; the players have got to blame themselves. Nigeria have to start all over and focus on the league to start preparing for next two years.
“And that has to start now because what we have just seen of the team is not what anybody dreamt of or expected from Nigerian team but with the way things are now, we need to go back and build a new team.
He stated further: “Keshi is an employee of the Nigeria Football Federation; they need to sit down and see how they canhelp him by sending him to coaching courses. Nobody is happy with the Eagles.”
A win by any goal margin would have secured automatic qualification but they could only force South Africa to a 2-2 draw with Hull City player Sone Aluko grabbing both goals for Nigeria.
