The body overseeing the Spanish top fight LaLiga has rejected Paris Saint-Germain's payment for Neymar, according to reports.
Neymar is on the verge of a stunning world record €222m move from Barcelona to PSG as the Parisians are willing to meet the Brazil forward's buyout clause.
In Spain, buyout clauses are paid to LaLiga for clearance, not directly to the selling club.
However, Sky Sports reported on Thursday that LaLiga in the morning refused to accept PSG's lawyers and Neymar's lawyers' attempt to pay the player's €222m release clause.
Five lawyers representing PSG and Neymar were at LaLiga headquarters in Madrid for about 15 minutes without accomplishing their goal.
LaLiga officials had earlier insisted that it was their duty to protect their clubs from being raided by government-funded clubs like PSG, which is run by the Qatari government.
The move is still expected to go through since once a buyout clause is met, the club is obliged to let the player go.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
