Newcastle skipper Jamaal Lascelles is fit for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace. The centre-back, who was being watched by England head coach Garth Southgate, was substituted at half-time in last weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to Arsenal after aggravating an ankle problem in the warm-up.
But he is back in training and should be in the line-up, while Jonjo Shelvey, who was not risked against the Gunners after returning to the bench following a lay-off with a thigh injury, could also return.
The ex-Liverpool midfielder has trained all week, leaving only defender Florian Lejeune (knee ligaments) missing.
Provisional squad: Dubravka, Darlow, Yedlin, Dummett, Manquillo, Sterry, Lascelles, Clark, Fernandez, Schar, Shelvey, Hayden, Diame, Ki, Ritchie, Kenedy, Murphy, Atsu, Longstaff, Perez, Rondon, Muto, Joselu.
