Nigeria's Paul Kolade on Friday morning completed a disappointing outing for the country at the 2017 World Takwaendo Championship in Muju, South Korea after his elimination in the Round of 64 stages, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Kolade, fighting in the men's -80kg category, was beaten by Poland's Piotr Pazinski 19-12 which means Nigeria did not win a medal at the Championship which ends on Friday.
The Kogi-born fighter was the last Nigerian representative left in the Championship after the other thirteen fighters in the men and women categories all lost out in previous bouts.
A message from the official Twitter account of the Nigeria Taekwando Federation however described Kolade's defeat on Friday morning as "well fought" and "good experience."
Kolade represented Nigeria at the 2015 All Africa Games in Brazaville but was eliminated from the Games by Cote d'Ivoire's Balla Dieye at the quarter-final stage.
Nigeria will seek some redemption next week at the 2017 Chuncheon Open Taekwando Championship where Santos Akhilele will be competing.
