Serie B side Latina have appealed against Nnamdi Oduamadi’s red card after the winger was sent off in Saturday’s 1-0 loss with Avelino.
The 24-year-old became the sixth Latina player to be dismissed this season when he saw red for misconduct.
“I thought it was a harsh red card and we think three games is excessive,” Oduamadi told Complete Sports.
“I didn’t do anything maliciously at all but I hope I get luck with the appeal.”
Oduamadi’s ban will start with this weekend visit of Pescara New Year’s Day if Latina fail in their appeal.
Latina are languishing 21st on the Serie B log with 24 points from 25 games but Oduamadi believes with 17 games left, Mark Iuliano’s side can avoid the drop.
“There are 51 points to play for and I believe we will avoid the drop.”
