–As Eskiserhispor host Karabukspor
Two Super Eagles stars will come face-to-face in a Turkish Super Lig cracker today when Raheem Lawal’s Eskisehirspor welcome Joseph Akpala’s Karabukspor to the 13,520-capacity Eskisehispor Ataturk Stadium.
The host side will especially be desperate to return to winning ways in this tie having lost their last three league games which currently leaves them in the 15th position on the league table with 12 points – just a step above the drop zone in the 18-team Turkish topflight.
Today’s fixture promises lots of fireworks in that visiting Karabukspor are now above Eskisehirspor. A recent run of good form has seen Karabukspor move to the 14th position with 14 points after picking 7 points from their last three games.
Interestingly too, Lawal (a midfielder) and Akpala (a striker) share a thing in common. Both currently have 2 goals to their credit for their respective sides. Lawal recently stage a return to the Eagles during the botched African Cup of Nations qualifiers while Akpala last featured for the Eagles during the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil.
