After one week out injured, Super Eagles fringe star Leon Balogun marked his return to competitive football with a goal as Darmstadt thrashed Union Berlin 5-0.
Balogun opened the scoring for his side in the 34th minute to set them on the way to a 5-0 rout that takes them to second on the table, three points behind leaders Ingolstadt.
The Nigerian is making a name for himself as a goal scoring fullback as the goal was his third of the season from 14 games.
The 26-year-old is on a season long contract at Darmstadt, the team he joined as a free agent from Fortuna Dusseldorf but with an option of a further year based on performance.
His Super Eagles debut lasted less than 20 minutes as he went off injured with a broken ankle sustained in a nasty collision with the advertisement boards.
However, there are indications he will be handed a recall to the National team of Nigeria ahead of the friendly games against Bolivia and South Africa.
