Abia Warriors forward Stanley Okoro, nicknamed “Little Messi” has told his club’ s fans to expect more goals from him after he opened his account for the Umuahia-based outfit after four substitute appearances.
Okoro, who scored in his side’s 3-1 Nigeria Professional Football League win over MFM FC on Sunday, admitted to Completesportsnigeria.com shortly after the game that that he needs more games to get back to his best form.
“I’m getting my confidence back fully but I’ve got a lot to improve on and start scoring more goals,” Little Messi told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“I’m happy with the victory. We’ve gained three points which are important for our title chances.”
On his substitute role so far, Okoro said: “There will be no lack of effort on my part. I’ll keep working hard at my club to improve.
“I am always filled with ambition whenever I get called for games.”
Okoro began his career with River Lane FC before featuring for Bendel Insurance and Heartland in the Nigerian Premier League.
He also featured for Almeria and Cherno More in Europe.
