    …..and ighalo scores yet again.

    • Ighalo’s goals are like buses…

You wait at the bus stop for ages for one to come and when you are about to give up, several buses come at the same time!

  • Libya 0-2 Nigeria

  • If the scores stays at Libya 1-2 Nigeria, Nigeria will be in 9 points and South Africa will be on 8 points. Our next match will be against Seychelles at home and South Africa away.

  • Chima E Samuels 4 years ago

Guys so far how do you rate our first half performance?

    • Prince 4 years ago

First half was a good one from the SE
The strikers took their goals well on their chances … early goals matters a lot these days in the game of soccer … especially if you are playing away from home !

The midfield did well and the defence did good too
Both departments needs to be a little rugged and cover for one another more especially the duo midfielders (Ndidi & Etebo)…as well as the central defence duo (Leon & Ekong)!

The goalkeeper did a great first half! His saves were vital

All in all…let’s try and nick in another goal or let try mad safe-Guard the winning 3 points !

      Let’s go…SE…soar like da Eagle !!!

Hello, anyone here has the online lnk to watch the match? Am in UK

  • Half time ratings:

Francis Uzoho 6/10: Poor positioning for conceded goal.

Olaoluwa Aina 6/10: Supported attack when required.

William Troost-Ekong 7/10: Assured in defence

Leon Balogun 5/10: For a tall guy, he was beaten too easily (not for the first time) in the build up to Libya’s goal.

Jamilu Collins 6/10: Not afraid to support attack at will.

Wilfred Ndidi 6/10: tackles and interceptions ok; ball distribution requires improvement.

Alexander Iwobi 7/10: Looking dangerous always; excellent contribution to 1st goal build up.

Oghenekaro Etebo 6/10: Willing runner; needs more finesse and quality

Samuel Kalu 6/10: Slowly getting into the game

Ahmed Musa 7/10: Assured in his play; good goal and good assist.

Odion Ighalo 8/10: 1 goal 1 assist; the boy is back in town.

    • Chima E Samuels 4 years ago

Deo spot on except for Ighalo whose passes so far has been a let down to our attacking moves as for uzoho I dont think he is match fit. The match match performance is not really excellent. I will need a Simon for Kalu who is not visible in this game, Ogu for etebo and success for Ighalo. Ighalo will come good if he moves out of China although he is scoring the tap ins but his touches are off color too poor for a professional. If we hide the truth because of this Libya clash we might pay for it at subsequent games!

      • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Hahahaha…. Look at the face of a hater who has just been served a humble pie not once but twice. Lmao
“If we hide the truth because of this Libya clash we might pay for it at subsequent games”
Wat a cynical comment. Bros the boy is scoring now… That’s all that matters to us. Let’s leave another day for another day. Teams don’t come better than Libya or cameroun whom he has scored against so far. Tell ur Isaac success to first earn a starting berth at the same Watford where ighalo was king alongside Troy ferny and also score 20 goals in one season like ighalo did @ the same club, b4 he can dream of leading the SE attack. Till then he should sit on d bench and learn from odion

        • Chima E Samuels 4 years ago

Drey relax my observations are plain without hates whatever Rohr is doing most local coach have done that before and even more so calm down no haters here! If success is given this same opportunities he will score goals and his link up will delight fans. Game on 3 goals to 2

        • It is true dr drey this is not the time to hate. We are one Nigeria. Uncle Chima just wants the boys to be the best they can be.

          • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Haha haha…. U need to read the rubbish he wrote about ighalo’s goals on Saturday… It’s either that they r tap-ins or that the defenders were Chinese league materials and all sorts. Like seriously…??? Not one word of praise has proceeded from his lips for ighalo after his hat trick feat. Even Omo9ja who had hitherto towed the same line couldn’t help but praise the young man. How many Nigerian players have ever scored a hat trick for the SE since 1945…? Even if it was his hands he used in throwing the balls into the net, he deserves some pat on the back, especially given the bad patch he’s been trough all day while and the trauma he’s had to withstand….after all there were 22 players chasing the ball on that day and he alone put 3 in the back of the net. Now today more humble pie with 2 goals. All those who were calculating his tally for the national team…. Kindly add +5 to it now. Oh how I love seeing “critics” walk back home with their tails between their legs.
Well-done ighalo… I wish you well in ur subsequent games.

          • Chima E Samuels 4 years ago

Drey you’re putting words in my mouth the comments written are observations and has nothing to do with hate or whatever he scored a good second goal but the first even you can score that. I spoke of his ball possession and if he was to remain in epl where you get a polished training he will do well at most decision making. Ashy I greet your appreciation at a thoughtful opinion as against the hate thinking Drey is bent on thinking. Drey think on and dont forget to always be honest regardless of the bait you’ll receive from fans

          • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

            Yooohhhhh….!!!
See who wants to teach ighalo how to play football now….!!! LMAO. When I compare the humility in your tone now as against your previous habitual arrongance when you malign ighalo, iheanocho or G. Rohr, i feel like eating 4 wraps of poundo-yam and edikang-ekong soup. I you took all d bile u used to spill at ighalo for ‘constructive criticism’ then kindly stomach my own ‘constructive criticism’ of you too now. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
Still, kindly be man enough to type ‘congrats ighalo’ its 6 in 3 matches for the young man now. I dont mind him ‘tapping-in’ 2 to 3 goals per match henceforth. The last time I checked, Fifa has not abolished goals being scored by ‘tapping’ them in

  • #deo what a sensible statement. I love it. Meanwhile the Eagles should hold on tight to top the group. South Africa drew with Seychelles. It’s an apple that just drop on our way.

  • This is awesome! Congrats the SE. Let’s savour our hard-earned victory over Libya until we head to South Africa on a revenge mission.

  • Chima E Samuels 4 years ago

In the end good we won the real test will come up next month against South Africa by then I will have a proper assessment of Coach Rohr and the born again but more to desire ighalo

    • Joel Chidi 4 years ago

Bros, sometimes when I see how you guys talk about ighalo, I laugh. A good striker scores all types of goals.nodding, tapping, bullet shot from outside 18,right,left booth you name it. If ighalo was to be a South African and scoring the amount of goals he has gotten, you would have been scared to your pants, as the eagles prepare to play South Africa. We don’t respect what we have. A player that has scored so many goals in the premier league, you disrespect with derogatory comments as looking down on the goals and the manner it was scored. Thank GOD GR is not a local coach,, if not, he would have bowed down to pressure to change ighalo and these bountiful harvest wouldn’t have been enjoyed. Value what you have. 6 goals in 3 matches is no fluke

    • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Hahahahaha……Who ur assessment epp….??? U didnt employ him, neither do you pay his wages. you have zero say in his career as SE coach. Stop over-rating yourself bro…!

      • Gboyega 4 years ago

I’m with u on this jare. Chima needs to calm down, apparently nothing Ighalo does is good enough… When he didn’t score,he complained, when he scored 3,he said it was against a China made defence, when he scored 2 again…he is pending judgement till after south Africa game. Han han,Mr Chima, get a break. Fly eagles, fly

  • It was a mouth watering stuff.
    Pwheew!

Why did coach waited all day to settle the team with the introduction of Ogu, Kalu was totally unanimous for virtually through out the first half.

Their coach was quick to spot where his team needed some impetus and he made his sub at early stages of the game despite going two goals down and his team responded with a life line, it put us on lots of pressure after looking in total control of the game with our two goals lead.

The team showed a lot of quality and character to restore our lead to seal the three points but good reading of the game is always a factor in deciding who takes the win. We have all it takes to beat any African team any day and still show class by dominating and dictating play with the right substitutions especially when some players look out of place.

Anyways good game in the end three points in the bag, off to South Africa for a revenge mission.

  • Ndidi is out against SA next month. He got a needless second yellow card today because he lost his cool when he could have let it go. Thankfully, Mikel will be back for the No 16 Bafana game.

Iwobi needs to make quicker decisions and stop dancing on the ball too long. He loses crucial balls at those points and break up promising move by the SE.

Kalu was anonymous today. Change of tactics? Or a caution from the coach? Whatever it is, Kalu is good and hardworking. But Rohr, please, biko, ejo, bring back Simon Moses. He’s always a threat, super intelligent and mature in his game play.

Etebo was anonymous too. Ogu enlivened things a bit in the middle when he came on.

Collins and Aina should watch it. South Africans think our wing backs are our weak link. Hopefully, Shehu would have fully recovered and Ebuehi too.

Uzoho blocks well, but I think he needs sharper reflexes that enables him to dive full length and not spill balls dangerously in the 18 yard box.

This is a honest critique, not necessarily a critism. But overall, they came good. Applause to the entire team. Let’s finish this off at FNB, J’burg on November 16! Go Super Eagles!

  • #Chima Samuels. Don’t mind Dr Drey. He is just pulling your legs. I know your worth. You can give fire for fire. You never shy away from a rough fight. #Ashy can testify to this and I am happy that both of you are now the gentlemen I thought you were. So ignore Dr Dre for now. This is a day if joy. Moreover your critique on Ighalo is not ill intended. I have the same feeling too that he is not as sharp as when he was with Watford fc in England. His play has wan a lot. If it was then, Libya would have used basket to pack goals.
