I see omumomu scoring today. Nice starting 11 .. So much have been said of gift Monday.. She is playing the position of ajibade, can she replace ajibade, something tells me it might be difficult for her as Nigerians have hyped her so much..

I’m not a fan of ordega , I feel the coach was forced to play her because she doesn’t play so well as a second half substitute, since we don’t have a good bench let her play what she can and be removed of uchenna kanu in the second half.. Another opportunity for alozie can she finally impress at the left back position

    • Why are they missing glorius opportunities. This will back fire.

    • Philip Dasilva 2 years ago

Ononu does not know how to play football… She can’t even control always up front doing nothing… Put kanu there and see Or monday

    • Olujjjj 2 years ago

After watching all the games played by falcon .there is just only one thing missing…. The ladies are good. The coaches are good..but the only thing missing is agreement between the coach and the nff big men .. ..
Wat is missing is present in Zambia team and south Africa team .but falcon would have been the best if that missing link is allowed in the nigerian team .take a look at the u 17 eaglet coach by ugbade to have a guess of the missing link in the falcon..
Will falcon coach allow ugbade to talk to his team in training. Will nff make it possible.. . But I guess wat dey wil do which dey have already down.

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Onumonu is still not herself. Written all over her face..

  • SD Special Delivery Jones 2 years ago

This coach has to go back to the secondary school he coaches at. Nigeria are one goal down and he brings on Rita. This Waldrum no sabi.

  • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

This Nigeria team will win the World Cup, I trust this coach.

  • Ololo 2 years ago

Is this the gift Monday that will bench onumonu, very funny.. Onumino for me is our best forward in this game . we are missing too many chances and really missing her top stars…

KANU uchenna should come in for either Ortega or Monday.. We hope for a Better second half

    • Please watch the game with an open mind and compare the performance of Monday and Onumonu. Are you even putting into consideration that Waldrum is playing Monday out of position? What has been the contribution of Onumonu in this match?

      • Philip Dasilva 2 years ago

God bless you I thought I was the only one seeing it, that girl doesn’t know how to play abeg

        • Ololo 2 years ago

You have seen your gift Monday, shebi the coach finally listen to you plea ,Monday played where omumonu should play.. Hope she score hat trick

          • Monday’s performance was better than that of Onumonu. Monday can take on players and bear them. Onumonu will control ball straight to opponent’s legs. Let’s leave sentiment. Onumonu is not the best striker in that team to be playing ahead of the other players.

          • Ignatius Abo 2 years ago

            Well said Josh!

          • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

So how many goals and assists did her take-ons produce when she was shifted to play centrally with her back to goal in between 2 CBs in the 2nd half…..LMAOoo..??

  • I have said it already that Waldrum is an apology. You want to play Monday you push her to the wings and put Kanu on the bench because he insist on using Onumonu by all means. As long as he insist on using Onumonu as Falcons arrow head in the attack, Falcons will continue to struggle to score.

Please let Waldrum go back to coaching his university teams in USA. He is in capable of coaching any of our national teams.

    • Ololo 2 years ago

How many goals and assist have your gift monday had in this tournament.. What matters in football are goals and assist not footwork.. Onumonu is miles ahead of Monday.. As a top striker you can’t have 3 quality chances in a match and miss all three.. Hope you know omumono goal ratio since she started playing for Nigeria.. The coach must have read your comment and thought you made sense hence doing exactly what you told him to do.. We can see the result.. No dey confuse coach next time

  • Codex 2 years ago

This is what happens when a team conspires to lose a match due to unpaid bonuses, I hope I’m wrong cos one doesn’t expect to win a match by training once for an hour, how will you improve under one hour session done once. These players are true professionals but at some point someone has to draw a line of tolerance. As for this coach I hope he gets a benefit of doubt from the NFF cos the team’s performance in this tournament has been woeful and a more organised football administration will make inquests and ruthless decisions as well.

    • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

If they lose so be it…The NFF themselves are rogues and thieves..

    • No sentiments. Putting it plainly, the ruthless decision will be to sack the coach.
Again, NFF can’t reap where they did not sow. NFF wants the players to win but they are not ready to pay them. Dat one no go fit happen. NFF people no go see 3rd position add to their list of achievements unless they pay the players

  • Waldrum and Onumunu is the problem of the super falcons. What is Onumunu doing in this field now? What is uchenna Kanu doing on the Bench? Eguavoen is there snapping picture like a kid. Is he not the NFf technical adviser. Can’t He see what is going on and speak to the coach who is killing our football and ruining our international reputation?

  • onwajunior 2 years ago

    Onumunu > Monday

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

If we go to the World up with this kind of setup we had in this tournament….It will be a wrap by the end of the second group game. The coach is tactically inept and selects based on favoritism and American sentimentalism…Must he filled American born players?…Even if he has to play them out of position

  • Una dey shout gift monday, I think you guys can see very well. No ball assist and yet wasting chances upon chances.

  • onwajunior 2 years ago

Wetin be Gift Monday own today?

  • Respect is reciprocal 2 years ago

Thank God we didn’t have to face South Africa otherwise we would have got beaten twice by them. These ladies play with power without brain that’s why other African teams are catching up.IHave not really notice the Impact of the foreign Coach. The team Cannot Operate from the middle and they lack urgency to put the opponent under pressure to commit mistake that can lead to goals. The team is one dimensional, always want to attack via flanks and most times the love Striker is isolated. ln accurate passes keep denying us goals. God help us.

    • Other Africans team are not catching up. We are just losing it. Gone are the days we used to have star players like Nwokocha that can score from any angle. We had lots of them those days. If players like Nwokocha or Mercy Akide were to be playing today, Zambia would have seen 2 goals in their net at least.

  • Chudynak 2 years ago

    Is this a team?

  • Regista 2 years ago

Without Oshoala and Ajibade, there’s no Super Falcons team. To make matters worse, the coach is useless.

  • onwajunior 2 years ago

Lol… Let’s apologise to Onumunu sha. These homebased gals no be am

    • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

They think football is all about physicality and doing gragra all over the place. Oya play with your back to goal in between 2 CBs lets see na….LMAOoo.

You get a chance out of the blues twice blast it wide.

Onumonu’s hater should tell us how many time Ify was played clean through on goal one-on-one with the GK this whole tournament and what she did the only time she got such an opportunity.

Like I said previously, when either of Kanu or Monday play 8 matches in the CF position under this same barren tactics of Waldrum and go ahead to bag 5 goals and 3 assists, then I will agree Onumonu is the weakest link in this Super falcons team.

After pouring barrel loads of insults on the poor girl on social media, even calling her anumanu, they expect her to come and shed blood for themon the pitch again today. Oshoala is this, Oparanozie is that, Ordega is that, Onumonu is this…. They should keep it up. We will see who will be left to play for the team when everyone has been put through their venom of hate.

  • Stanley 2 years ago

All the noise about una yeye gift monday, she has blown 3 clear chances that onumonu would bury. Abeg make una comot with una online coaching. Seems na curse, when all this foreign born dey come play for nigeria.

    • Dr Banks 2 years ago

Was Onumonu not in the same game? Why didn’t she score or at least blow some chances to give us some excitement at least? A good striker should be able to create chances, let her blow 3, she created it and soon she will be burying those chances aplenty

  • I hope Nigerians play well next season

  • SD Special Delivery Jones 2 years ago

This Waldrum should just go back to the nursery school that he coaches kindergarten people. He is not good at all.

  • Regista 2 years ago

Meanwhile, Alozie is a good full back. Stable on the ball and plays with intelligence. Same with Payne.

  • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Monday Gift will do better than Onumonu…..Uchenna Kanu will do better than Onumonu. I hope that have both banged in hat tricks now.

Starting a game is not the same as coming on as a late sub and running at already tired opponents defence. Being sandwiched between 2 CBs all game is not the same as operating from wide where you have space to run into.

When your tactics always leaves your lone CF isolated and starved of quality service, your failure as a coach has just begun.

The earlier we do away with this high school coach the better for us.

I said it days ago, it was more dignifying of us to lose to Morrocco the way we did than to go to the finals and get disgraced once more by the SAns. That single game gave us more respect that a silver medal would have given us. Those Banyana girls
bravely open defenses without respect, like the Boko Haram breaks jails in Nigeria. It would have been wanton disgrace in the final because they would have been doubly prepared for us.

I dont know what sort of patriotism beclouds our judgement. But right from the qualifiers, I never saw this team coming back home with this trophy. It was that glaring. I hate to say I am not disappointed.

    • Ololo 2 years ago

The coach must be reading comments from Nigerian fans , you pull omumonu for a gift Monday without experience.. Look how she missed chances that a tired onumonu will score..

As a coach do your job , don’t listen to online coaches, you will pay dearly for it.. This coach should be sacked, we don’t want coaches who can’t stand with that decision

      • onwajunior 2 years ago

Hahaha… Same way Eguavoen came here to pick starting 11

        • Ololo 2 years ago

It reminded me of eguvean.. Onumonu onumono , gift Monday was played out of position, before we know it the man did exactly what online coaches want.. People who watch football with a bias mind.. Just look at the begging chances their star9 who when played in her favorite is missing..

Coach that listen to online coaches should be sacked.. Pesiro should better learn.. Do your job don’t allow ignorant Nigerians confuse you

          • onwajunior 2 years ago

Lol…exactly, the coaches are the ones who see these players in training so they should just forget online coaches and focus on their jobs.

      • KENNETH 2 years ago

Yes o my brother. Online coaches like that fake Dr dry.

        • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Okponu. Your father would jump for joy if he or you were to be nominated for the award of a fake doctorate. Useless piece of shit.

I hope your Gift Monday has finally scored 3 goals and delivered 3 assists like Onumonu couldnt do.

      • The questions is will Onumonu have been able to take on the defender or cut in like that without collecting the ball from her. Is she quick enough all the time?

        • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

The question is will Onumonu bury the 2 chances Monday fluffed…..and the answer is YES. That’s all that matters.

          • The answer to your question is NO
What is her goal ratio in this tournament’ even while playing with likes of Ajibade and a well motivated falcons team. Onumonu that can’t dribble defenders without falling or losing the ball

          • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

What is her goal to chances created ratio in this tournament….?

The only time she was served clean through on goal the whole tournament, she buried it with intelligence. She has also produced either a pre-assist or an assist in games vs Burundi, Cameroon and Morrocco.

What did your Gift produce tonight even when put through one-on-one 2ce…?

Even Osimhen cannot dribble defenders so cry us a river. As a matter of fact, most traditional no 9s cant dribble defenders, but give Onumonu the chances Monday was presented with and she will bury them blind folded. PERIOD

Hate Onumonu all you want, but neither Kanu nor Gift will contribute 5 goals and 3 assists in 8 matches in the CF position with Waldrum’s tactics.

          • Dr Banks 2 years ago

What did your Onumonu do in the whole of the first half? At least our Gift Monday gave of moments of “Oh my God” on 3 occasions while your Onumonu was only running around aimlessly on the pitch for 45 mins without any special moments.

At Monday is still young and she can still be coached on how to be calm to convert the chances been created by her. At least we have some exciting moments with Monday last night unlike the boring moments from Onumonu

        • She did today, on one occassion she get passed two defenders. Before realing the ball to another player who miss the ball. This happen in the first half.

          • Ololo 2 years ago

God bless you, I don’t know what the onumonu has done to them.. She can’t go pass defenders.. So the one she did in the first half is what? We lost today because the coach removed her to please online coaches

    • Codex 2 years ago

Some might not like what you wrote above evidenced by the thumbs down but any realistic Nigerian would be surprised if we won this wafcon tournament especially when one weighs up the pros and cons surrounding the team.totally agree doc.

SACK THE COACH, SACK THE COACH, SACK THE COACH.
USE LOCAL BASE COACH, USE LOCAL BASE COACH.
The coaching are clueless. In female football, the coach must shout from the start to finish. Women tend to forget instructions. Poor selection, no logical tactics. Sack the coach. Don’t invite Chikwuelu, Ebi, no. 9, Ordega, and selected of others. Overhaul the team. Result will come.

      • @Jeropal,sorry to say I hope you are not yet marry? If women catch you with this your comment, woo wa gbaaaa.

  • Ikeben 2 years ago

There is no problem with the coach, we have had a difficult competition our top 5 players are out by this match and it has definitely affected the team.
Oshola, Ayinde, Ajibade, Ebi, now Uchebi.

Gift Monday is talented but not clinical or maybe needs to calm down.

Or maybe I think this is all part of the bad luck brought about by bad Leadership of APC and Buhai. When the head is rotten everything will be affected.

    • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Zambia too did not having missing players right….??
Y’all should be thanking your stars that a certain Babbra Banda wasnt in this team for Zambia.

    • Codex 2 years ago

      I don’t agree,nah,Nada,never waldrum is a fraud,a chronic one at that.

  • pompei 2 years ago

I put the lion share of blame on NFF ONIGBESE.
Not paying the bonuses was a distraction that affected the morale of the team.

  • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Players are good but coach has no system. Falcons will go to the World Cup suffering to every team because I am very sure all the teams coming will be more technical, and fifa ranking is about to rank to an all time low.

  • Codex 2 years ago

The match has ended, poor performance by the Falcons but blameless especially when they have NFF not paying them and hiring inept coaches, next thing you know waldrum will be sacked and they’ll bring another fraud as coach oh and btw I saw Patrice Motsepe laughing at us during the match, when will our administrators learn?

SACK THE COACH, SACK THE COACH, SACK THE COACH.
USE LOCAL BASE COACH, USE LOCAL BASE COACH.
The coaching are clueless. In female football, the coach must shout from the start to finish. Women tend to forget instructions. Poor selection, no logical tactics. Sack the coach. Don’t invite Chikwuelu, Ebi, no. 9, Ordega, and selected of others. Overhaul the team. Result will come.

  • Sack waldrum now. Get a Nigerian with the quality of Florence Omagbemi or asound tactical coach with modern football phisophy. Not this idiot trying Americanise our football. This is not how super falcons plays. Although, we did not win today but we saw a bit what super falcons are made off. Coach, thank You! Go back to your country, we are done with You.

Falcons keep your heads high and let’s go to the world cup. oK?

  • The coach one, that our goal keeper too am not too comfortable with that lady, she must not be our goal keeper to world cup.

  • Omo9ja 2 years ago

It’s time for coach Waldrum to go. It is time for Amaju Pinnick to resign. Am happy for Zambia and I congratulate them.

The team should be scrap. We need a local coach who knows our brand of football.

    God bless Nigeria!!!

      Hahahahah….Okponu ayirada oshi.

“…I cant stop loving Waldrum, he is highly tactical coach and knows the job…”

    Onumonu, Onumonu, Onumonu.
    Onumonu this, Onumonu that.
The way Onumonu has been dominating conversations of recent, you will be forgiven if you think she is the cause of Nigeria’s socio-economic problems.
Well, everyone can now see that playing on your own upfront without support is not moimoi. Very few players can cope in this situation. Onumonu is not cut out for that. Monday also struggled today in this role.
Misplaced passes all over the place. Overhit passes. Onumonu would make runs, but the pass would be completely out of her reach, time and time again!
Well, we have to take it on the chin. In spite of NFF ONIGBESE SHENANIGANS, the ladies have tried. Hopefully, the present coaches, or the new ones if these ones are sacked, will work on building a TEAM, instead of an ASSEMBLAGE OF INDIVIDUAL TALENTS.

  • Chudynak 2 years ago

All players above 24 years should just retire from this team. There is nothing like experience, pace and intelligence are paramount.

  • Ololo 2 years ago

Our coach isn’t as bad as we want to paint him, if he had retained is plan of always playing onumonu we won’t have lost today.. A coach without his Best legs, no assisat, ajibade, ayinde, and also lost ebi, what do we want him to do , go and join the players in the pitch..

But I support he should be sacked, I won’t be surprised to hear he reads comments here during games.. He once said the Nigerian media is negative and this means he must be taking comments against him too seriously..

Going forward we need to learn from our mistakes and get better.. Certain players should go.. I’m surprised nobody is taking about ordega, in this tournament, she has been so poor in the team. gift Monday is a good player but not yet there as we rate her, a good striker need at least 2 chances to score, if you miss one you should not miss the next one but Monday wasted three good chances.. That’s three goals that will win us the game..let give her some more years to mature.. Chiwelu was also poor , but gladly we have ucheibu… Kudos to the girls we have some positives in the team.

  • Golden Child 2 years ago

They dropped Oparanozie for no reason, she would have a good option with injuries to our strikers.
We are all murmuring now bcos of bad decision of few people.
