Liverpool appear to have beaten a host of top clubs including Manchester United to the signing of MK Dons wonderkid Deli Alli, according to reports.
The 18-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents outside of the top flight after a string of impressive performances for the League One side since establishing himself as a first team regular last season.
Alli was a stand-out performer during the MK Dons 4-0 win over Manchester United in the Capital One Cup last month and it only further enhanced his burgeoning reputation, with some dubbing the youngster as ‘the English Messi’.
The teenager has only recently signed a new long-term contract with the Dons, but boss Karl Robinson has acknowledged they are going to find it extremely difficult to keep hold of the player with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and United all reportedly keen on luring him to the Premier League.
“It’s inevitable that there will be a time when we will have to let him go, whether that be in January, next summer or whenever.” he’s quoted as saying by the Express.
