Liverpool Get Milner, Can Boost For UCL Final Vs Madrid

Liverpool received an injury boost as the duo of James Miller and Emre Can resumed full training with their teammates ahead of Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid in Kiev, Ukraine.

Can has not featured for Liverpool since sustaining a back injury against Watford at Anfield on March 17.

He however stepped up his rehabilitation by joining his teammates at the training camp in Marbella last week and has since been able to participate in the full sessions with them at Melwood, Liverpool’s training ground.

On his part, Milner has overcome a minor muscle issue and is ready to play a part in Saturday’s clash.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com on board the team flight to Kiev on Thursday afternoon, Klopp said: “Millie (Milner) was clear [he would be fit] and Emre is a surprise.

“He (Can) told me he would come back, try this and that and then we would talk to people. We thought it would be difficult, but he came back and from the first day it was like, ‘OK, that looks good, how do you feel?’ ‘Very good’ and then the next day ‘very good’ again.

“Now he trains completely normal. He’s a nice option and that’s why he is with us.”

Liverpool will be hoping to land their sixth Champions League title since last winning it in 2005 while Madrid are aiming to become champions three times in a row.
