Liverpool new boy Naby Keita has welcomed the competition for places in midfield and feels it makes everyone better. The Guinean international officially completed his switch to Anfield from RB Leipzig ahead of this season although the deal had been agreed the previous summer.
Liverpool fans have already been impressed by his exploits, having started their opening three games, and he has kept the likes of Jordan Henderson and fellow new arrival Fabinho out of the starting XI.
Keita was dropped for their victory over Leicester before the international break and accepts with so many options, boss Jurgen Klopp will have some big calls to make.
“Competition for places in midfield is something that can only help the team,” Keita told Liverpool FC’s official website. “Obviously the coach will go ahead and make his choices and I am sure he will choose the best players at the time for each match as they come along.
“That way, everybody gives their best throughout the season and I think it also gets the best out of everybody.”
