Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is back in training and is set to return in Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Barcelona. Spurs have received a big boost ahead of Barca’s visit to Wembley with the news first-choice keeper Lloris is fit again following a thigh strain and he’s in line to start on Wednesday, with back-up Paulo Gazzaniga stepping down.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side suffered a late 2-1 defeat in their Group B opener against Inter Milan last month so will be hoping for a positive result against the Catalan giants to get their Euro campaign up and running.
Barca have surprisingly lost to Leganes and drew with Girona and Athletic Bilbao since beating PSV Eindhoven in their Group B opener but Spurs striker Harry Kane has nothing but respect for the five-time European champions, who will have Lionel Messi back in the starting line-up after he was rested, only coming off the bench on Saturday.
Kane said: “It’s a massive game in the group. They’re a fantastic side but we proved last year we can beat the top teams.
“It’s a great test. As a player you want to play against the best players in the world and Messi is certainly that. But we have to focus on ourselves – we have some great players as well.”
Spurs beat Real Madrid in the group stage of the competition last season and Kane hopes for a similar evening at Wembley.
“We had an amazing crowd last season [against Real Madrid] and we should have a full house this time around too,” he added.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
