Kano Pillars have been fined N2.4m by the League Management Company, LMC, for the unruly and violent conduct of their fans during and after their Nigeria Professional Football League week-seven rescheduled tie against Enyimba on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The LMC established that fans of the four-time NPFL champions threw objects and also encroached the field of play in the encounter which the home team lost 2-1.
The club will pay N500,000 for the action of their fans.
The league body also ruled that the management of Kano Pillars should pay an official of Enyimba who was injured during the commotion N250,000 as compensation.
Enyimba will get N150,000 from the Kano side to effect repairs on their bus damaged after the game.
Pillars have also been mandated to conduct a seminar on acceptable behavior for their fans to be supervised by the LMC.
The LMC has also placed the Sani Abacha Stadium under close watch and threatened to ban fans from the venue for two games if there is a repeat occurrence of such unruly behaviour.
