Nigeria’s representative in the 2019 CAF Champions League competition, Lobi Stars have been handed a tough draw reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The draw was held at the luxury Cairo hotel in Egypt.

The Markurdi based outfit will face 2017 Champions, Wydad Casablanca, Mamelodi Sundowns and ASEC Mimosas of the Ivory Coast in group A.

It will be the third consecutive season in which Wydad and Sundowns clash in the competition with the Moroccans winning two, drawing one and losing one of the previous four matches.

CAF Champions League trophy-holders Esperance of Tunisia will face Horoya of Guinea, Orlando Pirates of South Africa and FC Platinum of Zimbabwe in the 2018/2019 group phase in group B.

Mr Writer….please erase that word “tough draw”. At this stage, no team is gonna be an easy piece of meat. Group C is not as tough as A & D in my opinion. I wouldnt know if group B would have been better with TP Mazembe and Mamelodi Sundowns in the mix. Horoya and Pirates @ Enugu should be 6 points. they will howevr need to play thier skins out to get 3 points off wydad in enugu and another 1 point either at conakry or soweto or both places to qualify for the q/finals

      it’s a tough draw oga

      •  There are no easy draws on the champions league. Lobi will find it especially tough because compared to all other teams in the champions league they have been relatively inactive since May – 8 months (apart from the Aiteo cup and champions league qualifiers).

They have played maybe one or two matches a month compared with other teams that have played between 4 and 6. Their teams will be more cohesive, and match fit than ours

Aha…CSN….why have you guyz rigged your own news…?!
This was not the groupings you guyz released as at 16 hrs ago when you first broke the news of the CCL draws. Was the writter hallucinating then or what…? Anyways, now that Lobi starts has ‘relocated’ from group C to group A to camp with Wydad, Sundowns and ASEC, I agree that its a tough group. They will have to work their butts off to get wins at home in all 3 matches. Howevr, I look tru the 4 groups and I dont see any easy pickings. At this stage of the competition, im sorry, there are no easy meats.
