Super Eagles and Lobi Stars goalkeeper Okiemute Odah is saddened by his omission in the list of players for Sunday's 2018 Africa Nations Championship qualifier against Benin Republic in Cotonou, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Home-based Eagles chief coach Salisu Yusuf On Thursday picked the trio of Ikechukwu Ezenwa (FC Ifeanyiubah), Theophilus Afelokhai (Enyimba FC); Dele Ajiboye (Plateau United) for the first leg fixture in Cotonou.
Odah, a former Golden Eaglets goalkeeper spoke with Completesportsnigeria.com on Thursday on his exclusion from the team.
"I was naturally disappointed not to make the team, but I wish the team well against Benin on Sunday.
"It's well. That's my story, but I'll keep pushing hard and hope to work with the coaches again.
"I was not injured. In fact, I was involved in the practice matches we played, so one disappointment will not weigh me down," the former Golden Eaglets goalkeeper who was in Nigeria's squad to the competition in 2016 stressed.
The Eagles will depart for Cotonou via Lagos by road on Friday for the first leg fixture at the Stade de l’Amitie on Sunday.
