Ruben Loftus-Cheek says his loan spell at Crystal Palace “matured” him and he’s now reaping the benefits back at Chelsea.
The 22-year-old impressed last season on loan with the Eagles, making 25 appearances and scoring twice, but returned to Chelsea in the summer hoping to force his way back into the first-team plans at Stamford Bridge.

He has managed to make an impact in Maurizio Sarri’s side this season, playing 14 times and scoring six goals in all competitions, and the midfielder credits his time at Palace with helping him to improve.
“After a season at Palace I felt I really matured, I got to see what the Premier League was like playing week-in, week out,” Loftus-Cheek told Chelsea TV. “At Palace we had to fight a lot. I really think I learned the way to fight and grind out games.
After the World Cup I was ready to come back and fight for a place at Chelsea. “The start of the season was difficult but I’m getting chances now and I’m just looking to do the best I can.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
