Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi, has lost out to Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Dele Alli, for the prize of the Young Player of the Year at the prestigious London Football Awards for 2017 held on Thursday night, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Everton youngster, Ademola Lookman is the other player of Nigerian heritage to miss out on that awed. The exciting forward was also nominated along with Iwobi, and the duo of Arsenal's Hector Bellerin and Fulham Ryan Sessegnon
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte claimed the Manager of the Year, while Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris clinched the Goalkeeper of the Year sponsored by Ideal Bathrooms.
Eniola Aluko was nominated for the Women’s Player of the Year and her junior brother Sone is a contender for English Football League Player of the Year.
