David Luiz issued a grovelling apology after helping to dump ex-club Chelsea out of the Champions League.
The Brazil centre-back scored Paris Saint-Germain’s first leveller in the 2-2 extra-time draw at Stamford Bridge which sent Laurent Blanc’s ten men into the quarter-finals on away goals.
Luiz, ditched by Blues boss Jose Mourinho last summer, went back on his word before the tie, by celebrating his 86th-minute header.
PSG’s £50million signing, 27, said: “It was good for me to score. I was so emotional and I couldn’t control my emotions.
“Thank you to Chelsea because they have always been supportive to me and sorry I celebrated because I was so emotional.
“I was very happy at Chelsea and won many titles. I respect everyone.
“My cycle finished in Chelsea. PSG gave me a great opportunity to continue my career.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
