Manchester United booked their passage into the semi-finals of the FA Cup following a 2-0 win against Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday night.
Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku and Serbia’s Nemanja Matic, who will face the Super Eagles in a friendly on 27 March in London, scored both goals for the hosts.
Both teams struggled to break each other down in the opening exchanges with no real action on goal.
The Red Devils however hit the back of the net from their first serious attempt of the game eight minutes before the break.
Matic swept a first time cross towards the back post which was headed past Tim Krul by Lukaku for the Belgium striker’s 25th goals of the season in 44 games in all competitions.
The visitors dominated play in the second half and were missed a couple of good goal scoring opportunities.
They conceded the second goal seven minutes from time with Matic nodding Ashley Young’s free-kick.
Jose Mourinho’s men joined Tottenham Hotspur who defeated Swansea 3-0 earlier in the day in the last four.
The two other quater-final games will be played on Saturday. Wigan Athletic will be up against Southampton at the DW Stadium, while Leicester City will host last season’s finalists Chelsea.
