–Says Eagles will bounce back against Bafana
By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:
President of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari returned to office yesterday to take charge as directed by FIFA and assured that he would not stay longer than necessary.
He told the media in his office that he was at the NFF in the interim to oversee football till after the elective congress, adding that the congress of the federation would meet soon to map out election processes.
Maigari lamented the Super Eagles 2-3 loss to the Red Devils of Congo last weekend in Calabar and assured that he is optimistic that they would bounce back with a victory over South Africa today in Cape Town.
“It is an interim return. I am back to put things in order. We are here to usher in a new board and by the grace of God, a new executive will soon be in place.
“Too bad the Eagles lost last week, it is sad but that is football for you. We are back and we will address all that. I am confident that the Eagles will bounce back in South Africa,” he stated.
