Maigari: Eagles’ll Rule The World

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Aminu Maigari has boasted that the Super Eagles will be crowned World champions by the time the curtain falls on the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Maigari gave the assurance while receiving Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Prof. Ade Adefuye, and the Consul General of the Nigeria Consulate in Atlanta, Ambassador Geoffrey Tenelaibe and top embassy staffers.

They both paid a courtesy call to the Super Eagles at the Hyatt Hotel camp base just before the team lost 2-1 to the USA men soccer team.

Maigari, in response to the charge of the two diplomats to the Eagles to make Nigeria proud, said he has no doubt that Nigeria will be the shining light of the African teams at this year’s mundial in Brazil.

“That is why they are currently the African champions and they are about to be crowned world champions”, Maigari assured.

While addressing the players earlier, Prof. Adefuye, who identified most of the players by their names said he has been a keen follower of the Nigerian national teams at all levels and it was time for the jinx at the senior level to be broken come Brazil 2014.

“We have won the U-17 World Cup more than twice, we have played in the final of the U-20 World Cup, why can’t we take that excellence and recreate it at the senior level?

“I believe that this year will be the year the Super Eagles will shock the world and these are the players who will do it.
