MAN CITY BEWARE: 5 UCL Turnarounds After 2-2 Home Draws

Manchester City are on the verge of making it to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time.

City held Paris Saint-Germain to a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Parc Des Princes. And it is believed that all things being equal, Kelechi Iheanacho and his City colleagues should do enough to advance into the last fouron Tuesday night, judging by the first leg result.

But in this piece, JAMES AGBEREBI relives six clashes where teams who played 2-2 away in the first leg still went on to lose at home in the reverse fixture.

FC PORTO 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED (2nd Leg, Q/Final, UCL, 2008-2009)

Manchester United hosted FC Porto in the first leg of their quarter-final clash at Old Trafford.

To everyone's surprise, Porto forced Manchester United to a 2-2 draw, with Mariano Gonzalez netting an 89th minute goal after Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez had cancelled Rodriguez's opener.

But in the reverse fixture inside the Estádio Do Dragão, Cristiano Ronaldo's sixth minute long range strike secured 1-0 away win for Manchester and a 3-2 victory on aggregate.

Manchester United went on to face Barcelona in the final played inside the Rome Olympic Stadium but lost 2-0.

BAYERN MUNICH 0-2 AC MILAN (2nd leg, Q/Final, UCL, 2006-2007)

Daniel Van Buyten's late equaliser at San Siro against AC Milan earned Bayern Munich a priceless 2-2 first leg away draw against AC Milan.

All that changed in the return leg at the Allianz Arena as AC Milan ran out 2-0 winners and earned a place in the semi-finals.

Clarence Seedorf gave AC Milan the lead before Filipo Inzaghi grabbed the second goal to end the tie 4-2 on aggregate and earn Milan a date with Manchester United in the semifinals.

The Rossoneri went on to clinch their seventh UEFA Champions League title after defeating Liverpool 2-1 in the final.

AJAX 1-2 CELTIC (2nd leg, 1st Round, UCL, 1982-1983)

Parading the late Johan Cruyff, who returned after spells with Barcelona, Levante and in the United States, Ajax went away to face Celtic in the first round of the 1982-1983 season of the Champions League.

The Dutch giants held Celtic to a 2-2 draw and looked poised to advance into the second round.

It wasn't to be as Celtic shocked Ajax, beating them 2-1 right there in Holland to progress into the next round on a 4-3 aggregate.

Despite the huge win against Ajax, Celtic's run was cut short in the second round after losing to Real Sociedad.

CLUB BRUGGE 0-1 MONCHENGLADBACH (2nd leg, Q/Final, UCL, 1976-1977)

Club Brugge and Borrussia Monchengladbach squared off in the quarter-finals of the 1976-1977 European Cup.

The first leg was played in Germany and Club Brugge held Monchengladbach to a 2-2 draw.

But in the return leg in Belgium, Wilfried Hannes' strike, with six minutes remaining, sealed a 3-2 aggregate win for Monchengladbach.

And after making it to the final, Monchengladbach lost 3-1 to Liverpool inside the Rome Olympic Stadium.

NANTES 0-1 VEJLE (2nd leg, 1st Round, UCL, 1973-1974)

Danish side Vejle hosted Nantes in the first round first leg of the European Cup.

Nantes went back to France with a 2-2 draw against Vejle.

Unfortunately for Nantes, Vejle pipped them 1-0 to knock them out on a 3-2 aggregate win.

In the second round, Vejle were eliminated by Celtic, who saw them off 1-0 on aggregate.
