Man United Go Top As Arsenal, Liverpool Win

Manchester United will end a matchday on top of the Premier League table for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired after a comfortable 3-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Louis Van Gaal’s men took advantage of Manchester City’s 4-1 loss at Tottenham Hotspur to claim top spot with 16 points to their neighbours’ 15.

Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata got the goals against the struggling visitors, who are yet to win in the league tnis season.

Also on Saturday, Arsenal bounced back from last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea by beating Leicester City 5-2 at the Kings Power Stadium.

James Vardy opened the scoring for Leicester City in the 13th minutes off a counter-attack.

Arsenal responded through Theo Walcott in the 18th minutes off an assist from Santi Cazorla.

Alexis Sanchez put Arsenal ahead on 33 minutes following a simple tap in after Hector Bellerin initial cross took a slight deflection off Robert Huth.

Sanchez made it 3-1 in th 58th minute after he headed in an Ozil cross.

Sanchez grabbed his hat-trick in the 81st minute to make it 4-1 with a long range shot which flew past Kasper Schmeichel in goal for Leicester.

Vardy grabbed his second goal of the game after he scored in the 89th minute.

Substitute, Olivier Giroud put the game beyond Leicester on 93rd minute when he slotted in a Nacho Monreal cross to end the tie 5-2.

Arsenal are fourth in the table with 13 points, and will host Manchester United next weekend.

Liverpool also got bck to winning ways on Saturday, defeating Aston Villa 3-2 at Anfield.

James Milner opened scoring for Liverpool, while Daniel Sturridge added a brace. Rudy Gestede scored Villa’s two goals.
