–Launch fresh £40m bid for Juve star
MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to give Arturo Vidal pay parity with Robin van Persie to land the Juventus star.
Reports in Chile suggest that United are now fixated on trying to land Vidal and are willing to make a massive offer to secure his signature.
It is thought that United are ready to offer £40m for the World Cup star and will offer Vidal £200,000-a-week to make the move to Old Trafford.
That would put Vidal on the same level as Van Persie, and behind only Wayne Rooney in terms of wages.
Juventus director Pavel Nedved has suggested that Juve do not want to sell Vidal but would have to consider a huge bid.
He told Tuttosport: “Our strategy is clear; we want to keep all our best players, including Vidal and Pogba.
“We don’t want to sell anyone, especially Vidal.
“Certainly, if there were a high bid for them, we’d have to think about it but we don’t want to sell our champions.
“We want to be competitive in the Champions League and the only sales to be players who are not part of our plans.”
But it now seems that United are ready to put Juve’s resolve to the test, with the midfielder’s recovery from a knee injury reportedly now one of the few remaining hurdles to a move going through.
