Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has denied claims that he will take over from Rafael Benitez at Napoli.
The Italian coach has been mentioned as a potential replacement for under-fire Napoli boss Benitez, who has struggled so far this season, with his side picking up just four points from the opening four Serie A matches.
Prior to Fernando Santos’ appointment as the new Portugal coach, the out-of-work Mancini had also been mentioned as a candidiate to replace the outgoing Paulo Bento.
However, the 49-year-old admitted he is unaware of such talk, and there has been no contact.
“Me as Portugal coach? That has never been something,” Mancini told a press conference.
“There has also been nothing with Napoli.”
