Two first half goals from Sadio Mane helped Liverpool defeat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to earn the Reds their first win in the English Premier League in 2017.

Christian Eriksen stepped up but curled his effort over the upright.
At the restart, Harry Kane who was largely anonymous in the first half hit the post after getting on the end of a Christian Eriksen free-kick in the 57th minute.
Spurs grew into the game and Mauricio Pochettino introduced Moussa Sissoko for Mousa Dembele. He also hurled off Son Heung-min and brought on Vincent Janssen.
While Liverpool determined to hold on to their lead replaced Philippe Coutinho with Emre Can with ten minutes left to play.
