Former Super Eagles striker,Obafemi Martins,current team’s captain, Vincent Enyeama, winger Omatsone Aluko have hailed the election of General Mohammadu Buhari (retd) as Nigeria’s new president for the next four years.
Martins who plays in the MLS for Seattle Sounders said history has been made in Abuja.
‘History in the making.#APC noni (it is APC)#APC lo le se (it is only APC that can do it),’he wrote on his instagram wall and uploaded of him and Buhari at an unindentified function probably in Lagos.
Enyeama on his part congratulated Buhari for winning and hailed out-going president,Goodluck Jonathan as the real hero of our democracy.
‘Congratulations to our great country’s President elect Gen Buhari. #SUPERGOD help you take Nigeria to the next level,”he wrote on his instagram wall and praised Jonathan for allowing democracy to flourish in Nigeria.
“You have run a good race and fought a good fight. #SUPERGOD BLESS YOU. For these years that you were there for us, it is time to take a great honorable bow. You have done well,” Enyeama wrote on his instagram wall @vinny2908.
Also reacting to the election result was Hull City midfielder, Aluko who is hopeful of a bright and transparent era in the leadership of the country.
“Over to you APC and Gen Buhari. The success came with strings attached to your voters. To whom much is given much is expected #Nigeriahasdecided.’he wrote.
Monaco of France defender, Echiejile also added his voice to the deluge of congratulatory messages that poured in for Buhari.
