Obafemi Martins is confident confident he will soon start scoring regularly in China.
The Nigeria striker joined Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua in a lucrative deal in February but is yet to score
“Since I joined I’m gradually settling down to understand how they move,” Martins said. “My goals will come soon for Shenhua.”
The former Seattle Sounders forward, who was top scorer at the Major League Soccer club, has made five substitute appearances since arriving in China
Meanwhile, Martins paid a courtesy visit to the Heritage Orphanage in Lagos on Sunday to give out money and gift items to kids through his foundation Martins Aid Foundation, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Martins topd Completesportsnigeria.com that the gesture was his little way to touch lives.
“Since I moved to Europe about 14 years ago, I have always helped my friends and family and even people on the streets, but now I wish to do even more,” the former Inter Milan star said.
“Nigerians deserve to live a better life, but the government alone cannot do everything. It is left for organisations and individuals who are in a position to also help those in need.”
