By Johnny Edward: Super Eagles forward Obafemi Martins scored his second brace of the season for Shanghai Shenhua who spanked Tianjin Quanjian 4-0 in Thursday's FA Cup clash at the Hongkou Stadium, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Martins who took his goal tally to seven in the colours of Shanghai Shenhua scored his side's second goal in the 55th minute of the encounter before completing his brace in the 81st minute to seal a place in the next round for Gregorio Manzano's side.
The Nigerian forward who is expected to keep his place when Shanghai Shenhua host Shanghai SIPG in a local derby this weekend was excited at his heroics for his club.
"I'm happy once again to prove myself in that win and I hope to do more," Martins told Completesportsnigeria.com.
He has made 15 appearances so far for Shanghai Shenhua.
Martins has played for Inter Milan, Newcastle United, Wolfsburg, Rubin Kazan, Birmingham City, Levante and Seattle Sounders in the Major League Soccer before making a lucrative move to China with Shanghai Shenhua.
