University of Benin Royals entertain Obafemi Awolowo University giants in the first leg of the HiFL quarter finals on Wednesday.
Imade first half free kick fired UNIBEN past UNILAG in the preliminary stage while OAU saw off UI opposition in a thumping three -nil Victory after an impressive 3-3 draw in Ibadan.
Both teams have had a bright start to the competition and haven’t record any loss, drawing their first leg game and winning the second leg, in the preliminary stage.
In the second leg, the Royals looked more confident defensively than on the front foot while OAU, on the other hand, have been rampant, scoring six goals in their first two matches.
A member of the UNIBEN coaching staff, Coach Andrew stated the team is preparing very hard, “we hope the fans come out en masse as they did in the game against UNILAG” He added.
Team News
No major injury concern has been reported. Man of the match, in the second leg game of the tie between UNIBEN and UNILAG played in a wide position in his first two games of this campaign as against the center midfield role he’s played in previous years. We expect him to retain his position on the flank as big striker, Imade lead the line forward line.
The UNIBEN defence will have a tough time preventing Giants’ top scorer and number 2 on the tournament’s scorers chart, Kehinde as he looks to increase his tally on Wednesday
Predictions
The Giants are very ruthless in front of goal. We expect the Royals to sit back and look to hit the OAU boys on the break.
Keeping the giants out will not be an easy task and with home advantage , we predict a 2-1 victory in favour of the Benin boys
