Mazzarri Optimistic Success Will Overcome Injury-Induced Poor Fitness

Watford boss Walter Mazzarri says poor form and fitness are holding Nigeria forward Isaac Success from showcasing his talent for the Hornets.

Success joined Watford last summer for club a record record£12.5m transfer fee from Spanish La Liga side Granada.

But since moving to England, Success who has scored just one goal in 12 appearances, and has struggled for regular playing time due to fitness issues.

And speaking ahead of Watford's home clash against Southampton on Saturday in the Premier League, Mazzarri expressed confidence that Success will still impress Watford faithfuls when back to full fitness.

"Of course, when you're a player that comes back from an injury, and it's only training, it's difficult to say when exactly he will be back," Mazzarri told Hertfordshire Mercury.

"He (Success) did play sometime in recent games, but he is slowly coming back and we cannot wait to have him back because it will help the side.

"Unfortunately he started once and was OK, and then immediately got injured.

"He did play the last games, but he was not as brilliant as he was at the beginning.

"But we are waiting for him and when he is back to full fitness, he will show us what he can do."
